Raising the Bar: How APNA Membership Benefits ABC’s Families and Candidates

As a former nanny (many, many years ago), a previous household employer (I had three amazing ABC nannies!), and now as a veteran agency owner (20 years has gone by so fast!), I understand the value of belonging to educational and business associations. From the BBB to the Entrepreneurial Organization to staffing association, we believe participation in industry and trade associations is valuable. What local families, nannies and household staff need from us is ever-evolving. The world of household staffing is constantly changing. To continue to provide top-notch care, we must be learning, growing and changing with our clients’ and candidates’ needs. In the nanny and household staffing industry the creme-de-la-creme of professional associations is The Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA).

What is APNA?

As a professional organization, APNA is committed to the education and development of its member agencies. It’s an opportunity for established agencies, like ABC, to align themselves with an organization that champions professionalism, ethics, education and innovation.

Over the last decade I’ve had the opportunity to serve on the APNA Board of Directors, most recently as APNA President – following in the footsteps of Ginger Swift, ABC’s founder and co-owner. The APNA board members are some of the most dedicated, experienced agency owners in the country. I’ve learned so much that has directly improved the services we provide. As the acting President of the association, I’m proud to share not only how valuable this membership is to us, but also how it directly impacts ABC’s clients and candidates.
