Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: Care will be for 4 children ages 15, 12, 9, and 2 months old. All 3 older children are in school full-time.
About the Children:
  • These 4 children are cousins and the 3 oldest are in school full-time so primary care is for the infant.
  • The 15-year-old boy does not need much childcare as he is independent, friendly and does great in school.
  • The 12-year-old girl is easy-going and loves reading and art. Also a solid student, she is caring, kind and has loved all of her previous nannies.
  • The 9-year-old boy is energetic and loves exercise. He likes to jump on the trampoline and play soccer!
  • The youngest cousin is an adorable happy and healthy 8 week old baby boy.
About the Family:
  • This position entails working for two households that are related and live two doors down from each other. It is a nanny share in that there are two separate households, but the kids are cousins and the families and homes are close.
  • Family 1 has the 3 older school-aged children. Mom works away from the home in an office. Dad works part-time at home and part-time in an office away from the home.
  •  Family 2  has an 8 week old newborn.
  • Mom of Family 2 is the sister of the Dad from Family 1 and they live two houses down on the same street. Nanny can easily walk to their home to care for their infant and/or care for older school-aged children (cousins) at either home.
  • Mom of Family 2 works away from the home. Dad of Family 2 works from home in a separate private home office.
  • Primary care is for the infant while older children are in school from 8 - 3:30, so the nanny will not routinely be expected to care for all 4 children at the same time.
  •  With Family 2 nanny should expect around 4 hours of care for the infant. Other time may be spent on baby-related household responsibilities. Nanny will not be expected to perform other duties while caring for the infant (unless napping).
About the Pets:
  • Family 1 has two friendly dogs, and they’d love someone who loves them as much as they do.
  • Family 2 has two indoor cats - all candidates must be pet friendly.
Additional Notes:
  • Family 1 has had a great nanny for the past 12 years and they appreciated that she was proactive, planned activities, and was self-driven.
  • The family would love their next family assistant to take initiative around the house and when planning for the children.
  • They are hoping to find someone who is looking to stay with both families for years to come!
