Located at: Hampden and University

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Family will guarantee 40 hours/week. They're seeking care Monday through Friday. Ideally, four 8-hour days/week, from 8 am - 4pm (or 9am - 5pm) and one split shift, ideally mid-week.

Live-In / Live-Out: This is a live-out position.

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year (ideally longer, if it's a great fit!)

Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: This family has four children in the home. The two oldest kiddos are 8 and 11 years old, and then they have two little ones, who are 3.5 years old and a brand new baby.

About the Children:

The two oldest children are in school full time. Their toddler is also in school part-time. The baby will be home with full-time for the next few years.
Family will need help with school transport daily (car provided).
The children are well-behaved, kind-hearted, and on good schedules. They also LOVE to swim and be outside, so someone who also loves the water and outdoors is important.

About the Pets:

Calling all pet lovers! This family has two little dogs, a cat, and gecko.
They'd love someone who also enjoys dogs and will assist with dog walking during the day.

Additional Notes:

The family has a housekeeping company that does deep cleaning twice a week.
They also employed their previous nannies for several years each! They are seeking a great working relationship with their new Family Assistant, ideally for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

This position is 50% childcare and 50% household management.
All standard Family Assistant responsibilities are needed, including children’s laundry and meal prep, light tidying and household organization projects, errands and transporting the kiddos to and from school/activities.

Travel Requirements:

A travel-ready Family Assistant would be ideal, but not required.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

3-5 years of experience caring for infants, toddlers, school-age children.
Previous experience working with multiple children at once is a must-have.
Experience with providing household support/duties as a nanny, nanny manager or Family Assistant is needed.
A college degree is not required, but preferred.
The ideal person for the job will be organized and reliable, active and outgoing, takes initiative and ready to lend a hand.
Limited/small visible tattoos and facial piercings to ensure a professional presentation.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering $30-$35/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $62,000 - $72,800 per year (gross).

Benefits and Perks Offered:

This family is offering guaranteed hours, 10 days of PTO/sick days, all major holidays off with pay, and a vehicle to drive on the job.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of 3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Standard vaccinations, including flu, tdap, and COVID-19 are preferred but not required.
