A quick look at this new ABC job…

Located at: E. Kentucky Ave and S. Franklin Street, Denver

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: This family will guarantee 35 hours per week or more on average (some weeks more and others less but average of 35 hours). Your typical hours will be Monday - Friday, 7am-9am, with an afternoon shift starting at either 12pm or 2:30pm and lasting anywhere between 4:30pm-7pm. An exact schedule will be given at least a month or two in advance.

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year.

Start Date: September 11th, 2024

Family and Household Dynamics

Children's Ages: Care will be for two children ages 13 and 10 years old.

About the Children:

The oldest child is in her last year of primary school, before heading to high school in the fall of 2025. Their son is at the same mandarin immersion school and will need help with homework after school, mainly making sure they are reading and getting it done!

About the Pets:

This family has a large Bernese Mountain Dog (140 lbs) - all candidates must be pet-friendly.

Additional Notes:

This returning family hired their current nanny through ABC and is now looking for a family assistant, as their nanny is retiring after 9 years with their family! They hope to keep this next candidate until the children graduate high school.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard family assistant duties including meal prep/light meals for children, laundry, errands, letting the dog outside, pick up's and drop off's, managing the family calendar, managing household renovation projects (to come in 2025!)

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position, but the family would love someone who is open to caring for their dog on occasion while they travel

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

5+ years of experience with school-aged/pre-teen children.
Previous experience with household management duties is a must.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of household management, and be capable of working independently and multi-tasking throughout the day.
Must be flexible with the family's needs/schedule, comfortable and passionate about working with older children, encouraging them to spend time away from their electronics, setting boundaries, and following through.

Compensation and Benefits

Let’s talk dollars and cents…

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering $30-$39/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $55,000 - $72,000 per year (gross).

Benefits and Perks Offered:

This family is offering all standard benefits, including 2+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days and gas/mileage reimbursement for driving on the job.

Required Qualifications

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Have all standard vaccinations, including flu, tdap, and COVID-19
