Position Highlights

A quick look at this new ABC job…

Located at: Central Park Blvd and M.L.K.
Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: The days per week can be flexible, Monday through Friday, based on the ideal candidate's needs! Mom is open to offering 21-31 hours, again based on the candidate's preferences (love her already, right?!). However, the ideal schedule would be Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays 7 a.m. to 6/7 p.m. An additional weekday, for more hours, can be added, if desired.
Live-In / Live-Out: This is a live-out position.
Commitment/Contract Length: This is a short-term position, starting the last week of September through mid-November.
Start Date: September 30, 2024

Children's Ages: Care will be for an adorable 4 year old.
About the Children:
  • This little girl is precocious and active, outing and loves to ride bikes, play outside, and is so excited to have a new person to play with!
  • She is in pre-school nearby, mornings only. She will be home and excited to go out on adventures and outings in the afternoon. She loves the zoo, the Nature and Science Museum, and the aquarium.
  • Mom uses Love & Logic and will welcome someone who can be consistent, set loving limits, and work with her as part of her parenting team.
About the Family:
  • This is a single-parent home. Mom is a busy working professional and works primarily outside of the home. She is thoughtful, direct and excited to welcome a great role-model into her daughter's life and someone who can help keep her home running smoothly!
About the Pets:
  • There are no pets in the home.
Additional Notes:
  • Grandpa, who lives down the road, has been the primary childcare provider since this little one's birth (during COVID), and is happy to help, if needed.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • All standard nanny manager duties are needed - in the morning the duties will be primarily related to household management. Mom would love help keeping the home tidy, grocery shopping, errands, assisting with easy family meals, and occasional organizational projects. When the little girl comes home from after school, the focus is on providing great care for this little dynamo!
  • They have housekeepers every two weeks on Tuesdays, which they're happy to continue - no heavy housekeeping required.
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel is required.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • 2-5+ years of childcare experience with younger children is required
  • Previous experience with household management duties would be ideal
  • Someone who speaks a second language would be lovely
  • Candidates must have a high-school diploma or higher
  • Someone active and engaging is a must-have. And when we say active, this little one loves to ride bikes and needs someone who has the energy to keep up with her! Additionally, the ideal candidate will be consistent and reliable, patient and kind, a safe driver and will enjoy helping this busy mom keep her home running well.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):
  • The family is offering an hourly rate of $28-$35/hour (gross).
Benefits and Perks Offered:
  • This family is offering all standard benefits for a short-term position, including guaranteed hours, paid holidays, paid sick days and gas/mileage reimbursement for driving on the job.

Required Qualifications

We welcome all candidates who meet or exceed the following requirements to apply…

  • Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
  • Have strong professional and personal references
  • Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • Are a non-smoker
  • Committed to professional, legal pay
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
  • Have all standard vaccinations.
