Position Highlights

A quick look at this new ABC job…

Located at: Norwood and Broadway
Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Monday through Friday 7 - 5. The family is happy to guarantee 50 hours per week with 10 hours of overtime. Flexibility to stay till 5:30 / 6 on occasion. Occasional additional evening or weekend overtime hours could be available, if nanny is interested. Potential to help with occasional bedtime help or overnights (e.g., 6-10 times / year) if one parent is traveling is desired but not required.
Live-In / Live-Out: Live-out position.
Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year.
Start Date: May 2025

Family and Household Dynamics

Children's Ages: Care will be for 3 children ages 6.5, 2.5, and 2 months old.
About the Children:
  • This a fun household of 3 boys --the 2 oldest are in school full-time, so primary initial responsibilities will largely (but not exclusively) focus on the 2 month old infant.
  • Older boys are both strong- willed, bright, active, creative, imaginative, funny, and seek warm and genuine engagement from caregivers.
  • The 6.5 year old son is a very bright, creative energetic kid who loves imaginative play, construction, legos, dinosaurs, skiing , Judo, and climbing.
  • The 2.5 year old boy is very active, bright, outgoing, and creative.  He loves exerting his energy with physical activities.
  • The 2.5 year old is currently halftime in school from 8:30 - 11:45 M-F,  and school will end in May for the summer for him.
  • The 6.5 year old is in school M-F 8:30 - 3:30 until May and will be attending some camps over the summer.
  • Dad primarily drops off and picks up the boys from school; however occasional help will be needed for school dropoff / pickup, drive to activities, and after school care for the older children, as well as help caring for children during school closures or illness.
  • Their precious 2 month old youngest boy is just a joy and is thriving and getting into a good napping and eating schedule.
About the Family:
  • Dual working parents.
  • Mom will be working in a private home office once she returns to work mid May after her maternity leave and her schedule is on East Coast hours, starting work early.
  • Dad works outside of the home and will be in and out during the day; also takes older children to / from school each day.
About the Pets:
  • There are no pets in the home.
Additional Notes:
  • This fabulous returning ABC family is seeking a true extension of themselves -- a stellar nanny to join their fun-filled busy household and become an integral part of their parenting team.
  •  Family ideally seeking a long-term partnership that may evolve over time to include additional family assistant duties as youngest child enters preschool next year.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • All standard nanny duties with light family assistant /house management including:
  • Meal preparation: Helping prepare breakfast and lunch for the children. 
  •  Occasional dinner prep as needed.
  •  Laundry: Children's laundry (including sheets / towels weekly)
  • Cleaning: Sweep kitchen floor / wipe counters after children eat, wash bottles, unload / load the dishwasher as needed, take trash out (e.g., kitchen, diaper pails) as needed, general tidying of common areas of the home at the end of the day.
  • Planning and implementing fun, creative, and enriching activities, both at home (e.g., crafts, imaginative play) and outside of the home (e.g., art / music classes, walks / park visits)
  • Occasional light organizational projects (e.g., children clothes / toys sorting)
  • Occasional help with older children school dropoff / pickup / drive to activities in family vehicle.
Travel Requirements:

 

  • The ability to travel with the family is desired but not required.  Travel would be rare (1-3 times / year) and with advanced notice.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • 2+ years of professional nanny experience with infants, toddlers, school-age children (most importantly infant experience)
  • Previous experience with family assistant duties and previous experience caring for multiple children at one time
  • A college degree is required
  • Experience with gifted children is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of child development and needs in different age stages.
  • Must be proactive, punctual, organized, and possess strong communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to come up with fun and creative activities / adventures to engage the children and provide a joyful, safe, and warm environment
  • The ideal candidate is warm, active, friendly, fun, engaging, creative, patient, reliable, and flexible

Compensation and Benefits

Let’s talk dollars and cents…

Rate of Pay (gross):
  • The family is offering $35-45/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $72,800-$93,600 per year (gross).
  • Additional overtime compensation equates to $27,300 - $35,100 per year (gross).
Benefits and Perks Offered:
  • This family is offering all standard benefits, including 2+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days and gas/mileage reimbursement for driving on the job with infant in nanny vehicle and a family vehicle is provided if transporting of older boys is needed.
Any Additional Perks:
  • This family is also open to offering a monthly health insurance stipend based on the candidate’s needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
  • Have strong professional and personal references
  • Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • Are a non-smoker
  • Committed to professional, legal pay
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
