Located at: Aspen, Colorado

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: The family is happy to guarantee 40 hours per week. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional support requested on the weekends (as-needed only). Mom and dad need support two hours before school each morning (6:30-8/9:00a) and during the busy after school hours, likely 2:30-8:00p. The schedule may shift to more regular daytime hours during the summer months based on the children's schedules/family needs.

Live-In / Live-Out: Live-in option is available for all non-local candidates. Family is happy to provide a private, furnished bedroom and bathroom with a separate entrance.

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year.

Start Date: ASAP. However, the family is open to a mid-July start, if needed.

Children's Ages: Care will be for three busy, sporty children ages 11, 10 and 6 years old.

About the Children:

The family's oldest child is a high-energy young man who loves football and basketball, their middle child - a sweet, active 10 year old girl - loves lacrosse and music, and the baby of the family is a busy, sporty little boy who recently turned 6 years old.
The children are all in school, full-time.
The two oldest see a local tutor 1-2x per week. Additionally, the ideal nanny will provide daily homework support for all three children.

About the Family:

The family recently moved to Aspen from sunny California. They are enjoying their new family home and settling into a routine here in Colorado.
Mom is home full-time but busy throughout the day. Dad works from home full-time, but travels regularly for work (25% of the time).

About the Pets:

This family has one indoor cat and a mini Bernedoodle.

Additional Notes:

This generous family successfully employed several long-term nannies (3-5+ years) in California. Mom believes their close bond is due to open lines of communication, mutual respect, and the ability to grow with their busy family.
They are looking forward to welcoming a new nanny into their lives - someone who will be a part of their parenting team - ideally, for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard nanny duties are required in this position, including preparing the children's snacks and meals, doing the children's laundry, keeping common areas neat and tidy, loading/emptying the dishwasher, and cleaning up after the children. Mom may request additional support with errands and grocery shopping.
The family also needs support transporting the children to and from school, activities and practices. A nanny car will be provided for driving on the job.

Travel Requirements:

Family travels regularly during school holidays, both domestically and abroad (Canada, Mexico etc). Typical travel time is approximately four weeks per year, and notice will be provided.
When the nanny travels with the family they will have their own accommodations (private room), will be provided a daily travel stipend, and compensated for any additional hours worked (over 40 hours/week).

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

All candidates must have 5+ years of verifiable childcare experience, ideally with school age children, to be considered for this role. This could be an ideal job for an experienced nanny or teacher!
The family prefers candidates who have a 4-year college degree, although they are open for exceptional individuals.
All candidates must be travel-ready and love animals!
All candidates must have strong communication skills and enjoy working together with mom (home but busy). Additionally, they'll be playful and active with the children (skiing, throwing a football, playing games etc), outgoing and have a positive personality, timely and responsible.
Last but not least, this position will require someone who is flexible, forward-thinking and proactive: if you see a need, help out. For example, the ideal nanny would know that the turn around time between school and sports practice is stressful, and collect/pack the children's gear in advance. If the family is running low on snacks, the perfect nanny would offer to go to the store and replenish their supply. If you're a great nanny, you know!

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering an hourly rare of $48-$58/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $100,000 to $120,000 per year (plus any additional over-time).

Benefits and Perks Offered:

This family is offering all standard benefits including guaranteed hours, 10 days of paid time off (accrued), paid sick leave (per Colorado law), a nanny car for driving on the job.

Any Additional Perks:

They're also offering a $500 monthly health insurance reimbursement as well as a travel stipend of $100/day when the nanny travels with them.

Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
