Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: Care will be for two children ages 5 and 6 years old.
About the Children:

The youngest is a bright and sweet child who thrives with one-on-one support. He is currently navigating very mild autism and ADHD, which can impact transitions and overstimulation. He does best with structure, patience, and knowlage of what he can expect. He is academically strong and will be home during the day. His older sister is a fun, outgoing, and energetic 6-year-old who is thriving in school and loves activities like gymnastics and martial arts. She will be in school during the day until summer break. Both children are very active and thrive getting their energy out.

About the Family:
  • MOM and Dad will both be around and in and out of the home.
  • The family moved here from Florida and now lives on 20+ acres.
About the Pets:
  • Three dogs and one cat live in the home.
Additional Notes:
  • This family is new to the area and has had wonderful, long-term relationships with their previous nannies, who truly became like family. They have remained close over the years, often staying in touch, having them visit, and even inviting them to help out during longer trips. They are hoping to find a nanny in Colorado who can step into a similar role and become a natural, long-term part of their family.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • The focus will be on nanny duties when the children are around this spring and summer. This next school year, the role will transition more into a family assistant role with a focus on the home. Duties would include, but not be limited to, family laundry, family lines, picking up around the house, light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, unloading and loading the dishwasher, specialty projects, and organizational projects. The family also has a housekeeper who will be in charge of deep cleaning.
Travel Requirements:
  • The ability to travel 1-2 times per year is required for the position.
  • The family will also request some overnights when mom and dad travel without the children.

  • The ideal candidate will be patient, kind, and organized, with a flexible, positive approach. They are looking for someone who is adaptable with scheduling and open to picking up additional hours as needed.
  • This person will be proactive in the home, taking ownership of household tasks and stepping in where needed to help things run smoothly without being asked.
  • A calm and patient demeanor is especially important, as they are seeking someone who can support their son with smooth transitions and understands how he learns and thrives.
  • Above all, they are hoping to find someone who truly wants to become part of their family, taking on a collaborative, co-parenting style role, just as their previous nannies have over the years.
