Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: Care will be for one baby who is 7 months old.
About the Children:
  • This sweet baby little guy is happy and healthy, with an easygoing and relaxed temperament. He is active and curious, currently sitting independently and getting very close to crawling. He follows a consistent daily routine, naps independently in his crib and has had great experiences with previous caregivers. He is also exploring solid foods through baby-led weaning.
  • As he continues to grow and become more mobile, his parents would love a nanny who will incorporate age-appropriate developmental activities, outdoor time, stroller walks, neighborhood parks and eventually additional outings into his routine.
About the Family:
  • These first-time parents describe themselves as laid-back, active and casual. They enjoy being outdoors and hope to find a nanny whose personality naturally complements their family.
  • Mom works from a basement home office, so the nanny should be genuinely comfortable working in a home where a parent is present while still confidently taking ownership of the baby’s day.
  • Mom grew up with nannies herself and understands how meaningful that relationship can become. The parents hope to find someone caring, communicative and dependable who will become a trusted extension of them as their son grows.
About the Pets:
  • The family has a sweet but energetic Golden Retriever. The dog can stay downstairs with Mom during the workday, and no pet care is required.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • All standard infant nanny duties are requested, including preparing the baby’s meals, baby-related dishes and cleanup, children’s laundry, maintaining toys and play areas, supporting his established daily routine and naps, and planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. Responsibilities are entirely child-focused.

Travel Requirements:
  • No regular travel is required.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • All candidates must have 2+ years of professional infant care experience with verifiable references. Nanny experience strongly preferred.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of infant development and be confident planning age-appropriate activities.
  • Previous experience maintaining infant schedules and patiently supporting consistent naps and healthy sleep habits is strongly preferred.
  • No college degree is required, and the family is open regarding educational background based on the candidate’s overall experience and fit.
  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced, calm and caring infant nanny who communicates well, is comfortable working alongside a work-from-home parent, and can independently manage the baby’s day. Someone with an easygoing temperament who genuinely wants to become part of the family and serve as a trusted extension of the parents will be an especially strong fit.

Compensation and Benefits

Let’s talk dollars and cents…

Rate of Pay (gross):
  • The family is offering $30-$35/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $62,400 - $72,800 per year (gross).
Benefits and Perks Offered:
  • The family is offering 2 weeks of paid time off, accrued paid sick leave, standard paid federal holidays, and either a family vehicle for work-related driving or gas/mileage reimbursement when the nanny uses their own vehicle.
