Located at: Fort Collins, near City Park

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Family is looking for periodic daytime support in approximately 4-hour shifts, with the schedule varying based on the parents’ work and travel needs. Shifts may generally fall in the morning (approximately 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) or afternoon (approximately 2:00–6:00 p.m.). The family can work with the provider to create an as-needed schedule in advance.

Live-In / Live-Out: Live-out

Commitment/Contract Length: Periodic support through February/March 2027. They are not looking for full-time care but would love to establish a relationship with a dependable provider for ongoing coverage when needed.

Start Date: ASAP

Children's Ages: Care will be for one infant, a baby girl born August 11, 2026.

About the Children:

This is the family’s first baby.
Parents describe her as an easygoing baby who generally sleeps and eats well.
Her current routine includes a bedtime around 7:00 p.m., with overnight wake-ups around midnight and 3:00 a.m., followed by a morning wake-up around 7:00 a.m.
She takes several naps throughout the day.

About the Family:

Both parents are professionals with demanding work schedules and travel frequently for work.
Mom is currently on maternity leave and is expected to return to work around November 5.
Mom works as a climate scientist/consultant, and Dad is a chemical engineer.
Care will be especially helpful when one or both parents are traveling or unavailable during the day.
The family is looking for someone they can rely on for occasional care through the winter and early spring.

About the Pets:

This family has two, elderly dogs that are approximately 55 lbs. and 80 lbs.
Both dogs are fiendly and sleep much of the day - all candidates must be pet friendly.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard Newborn Care Specialist duties including

Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for the infant.
Bottle-feed formula and follow the family's established feeding routine.
Support the baby's nap and sleep schedule, including providing contact and soothing as needed.
Diapering, changing and maintaining a clean, safe environment for the baby.
Engage the baby in age-appropriate interaction and activities throughout the day.
Communicate with the parents regarding the baby's feeding, naps, mood and overall day.
Depending on the family's schedule, occasional daycare drop-off or pick-up may be required.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

Previous professional infant experience is required.
Experience caring for young babies and following an established feeding and nap routine is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be warm, dependable, attentive and comfortable providing care independently.
Flexibility is important, as the family's needs will vary based on their work and travel schedules.
The family would particularly appreciate someone who is conscientious about illness prevention and maintaining a healthy environment around a young infant.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering $35 - $45 /hour (gross) depending on experience.

Any Additional Perks:

The family is open to providing a vehicle for childcare-related transportation or having the provider use their own vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Have all standard vaccinations.
