Located at: Telluride
Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with occasional overnights. The family is happy to guarantee 40 hours per week.
Live-In / Live-Out: Live out, with a housing stipend provided.
Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year - longer if it’s a great match.
Start Date: August 2026

Family and Household Dynamics

Children's Ages: Care will be for two children ages 10 and 13.
About the Children:
  • Their 8th grader is social, outgoing, and very active in lacrosse and dance. She is fairly self-sufficient, but a key part of the role is managing her afternoon tutoring schedule and ensuring she gets there on time.
  • Their rising 6th grader is social, outgoing, and active in soccer and skiing. He’ll attend junior boarding school in New Hampshire from September through May, but will be home during breaks and summers.
About the Family:
  • Mom owns a toy store in town.
  • Dad works a hybrid schedule. He ofter travels for work and will be in and out of the home.
About the Pets:
  • This family has two Golden Retrievers - all candidates must be pet friendly and willing to take the dog on walks.
Additional Notes:
  • We are a busy, active family seeking a warm, reliable, and proactive House Helper / Family Assistant to join our household on a full-time basis.
  • This family has had great relationships with their past nannies. They are excited to welcome in a new Family Assistant to join their team!

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • All standard family assistant duties.
  • Key responsibilities include managing the children’s schedules and transportation, coordinating activities and appointments, supervising playdates, handling children’s laundry and organization, maintaining shared household spaces, assisting with general household tasks and seasonal projects, and providing reliable, proactive support to keep the home running smoothly.
  • When the family is traveling, they would like someone to house and pet sit while they are away.
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel is required for this position, but the family would love someone who is open to it occasionally, and with advanced notice.
  • They own an home in Mexico and travel there frequently.
  • When traveling, the family would provide an overnight stipend of $150.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • 2+ years of experience with school-age children
  • Prior experience in childcare, household management, or a similar family support role
  • Warm, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently in a private family home
  • Reliable and punctual — the kids count on you to be there
  • A self-starter who notices what needs doing without being asked
  • A clean driving record
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of an active family
  • This is a hands-on role supporting the dayto-day rhythm of our home — from getting kids where they need to go, to keeping our living spaces organized and running smoothly.
  • The right person is someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and families, takes initiative, and takes real pride in caring for a home.

Compensation and Benefits

Let’s talk dollars and cents…

Rate of Pay (gross):
  • The family is offering $35-$40/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $72,800 - $83,200 per year (gross).
Benefits and Perks Offered:
  • This family is offering all standard benefits, including 2+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days and gas/mileage reimbursement for driving on the job OR a vehicle to drive on the job.
Any Additional Perks:
  • This family is also open to offering a health insurance reimbursement based on the candidate’s needs/total compensation package.
  • They are also open to assisting with housing costs.

  • Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
  • Have strong professional and personal references
  • Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • Are a non-smoker
  • Committed to professional, legal pay
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
