Located at: 56th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week. Preferred schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, and Thursday from 9:30 AM-5:30 PM. The family can discuss some flexibility around the Monday 12:00 PM-8:00 PM schedule for the right candidate.

Live-In / Live-Out: Live-out

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year

Children's Ages: Care will be for six school-aged children, ranging from 3rd through 8th grade.

About the Children:

This is a lively and close-knit group of six school-aged children with a wonderful mix of personalities, interests, and activities. All children are in school from approximately 8:00 AM-3:00 PM, with one child finishing around 4:00 PM. Afternoons are filled with activities, homework, chores, and time together.
The children are involved in ballet, baseball, soccer, outdoor play, and other interests. One child is pursuing ballet at a serious level, while another is a dedicated travel soccer player. The group includes both outgoing and more reserved personalities, along with children who are energetic, sensitive, creative, and exceptionally bright.
One child has a mild autism diagnosis and is highly social, gifted, and very bright. Candidates should be comfortable supporting a neurodivergent child with a strengths-based and positive approach.
A successful candidate will enjoy working with a larger sibling group and be confident navigating the energy, personalities, and logistics of a busy household.

About the Family:

The parents are experienced in working with household staff and value teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication. Their current nanny has been with the family for three years, and the relationship has worked especially well because of her flexibility and team-oriented approach.
The family describes themselves as fun, active, and very open communicators. Winters often include skiing, while summers involve several out-of-state family trips.
The family is hoping to build another long-term relationship with a Family Assistant who can become a trusted and dependable part of the household for years to come.

About the Pets:

The family has two dogs, a French Bulldog and a Yellow Lab - all candidates must be pet friendly.
The Family Assistant may occasionally be asked to help transport the dogs to the veterinarian for their annual exams as needed.
Pet sitting while the family is out of town would be a nice bonus but is not required.

EX: This family has a great relationship with their current nanny, who has worked for them for 2+ years but is relocating. They are looking forward to welcoming in a new nanny to their home - someone who will be a part of their parenting team - very soon.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard Family Assistant duties, including maintaining a tidy and organized home, managing family and children's laundry, grocery shopping, errands, Amazon returns, organizing the pantry, preparing children's lunches for the following day, and keeping the main living spaces neat and functional. The family is looking for someone who takes initiative and enjoys keeping a large household running smoothly.
- Support the children after school with homework, chores, routines, and age-appropriate supervision.
- Provide transportation to afternoon activities including soccer, ballet, and baseball. A family vehicle will be provided for transportation responsibilities. The role does not require school pickup.
- Prepare simple food-related items for the family, such as slicing fruit and keeping frequently used items organized and ready for the children.
- Help maintain consistency and organization across the household while communicating openly with the parents about schedules, needs, and priorities.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position, but the family travels frequently during the summer, typically spending approximately three weeks out of state. The employee will have those weeks off, with the option to pet sit if interested.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering $38-$40/hour (gross) with flexibility up to $42/hour for an exceptional candidate. Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $79,040 - $83,200 per year (gross).

Benefits and Perks Offered:

This family is offering all standard benefits, including 2+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days and a vehicle to drive on the job.

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references

Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
