A quick look at this new ABC job…

Located at: Englewood / Cherry Hills Village area

Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: 5 overnight shifts per week, ideally staggered, for approximately 4 months. The preferred schedule is Sunday–Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., although the family may have some flexibility. They are open to extending the position beyond the initial four-month contract if additional newborn support is needed.

Live-In / Live-Out: Live-out

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a short-term position for 3+ months - longer if it’s a great match.

Start Date: early January 2027, following the arrival of the family’s baby girl.

The primary focus of the overnight position will be caring for the newborn.

About the Family:

Both parents are healthcare professionals.
The parents are looking for someone who is a team player and can work collaboratively with them while also confidently bringing their own professional newborn-care experience and knowledge.
They are hoping to find someone who can provide consistent overnight support during the first four months and potentially remain longer if needed.
The parents may also appreciate additional newborn support around the time of Mom’s hospital stay and the baby’s arrival.

About the Pets:

This family has one cat - all candidates must be pet friendly.

Additional Notes:

The family is also seeking a separate full-time nanny for their 9-year-old son for a longer-term position, with that search expected to begin around October or November.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard Newborn Care Specialist / Night Nanny duties, including overnight newborn care, bottle preparation and cleaning, diapering, soothing, settling and maintaining a safe sleep environment.
Caring for the newborn independently overnight so both parents can rest.
Supporting healthy newborn feeding, sleep and developmental routines.
Providing clear communication and updates to the parents regarding overnight feedings, sleep, diapering and any notable changes.
Working collaboratively with the parents and incorporating their preferences and parenting style into the baby’s care.
Supporting the family during the early newborn period and potentially providing additional assistance surrounding the baby’s arrival from the hospital.
Maintaining a calm, organized and nurturing overnight environment.

Travel Requirements:

The ability to travel is required for the position. The family is currently closing on a mountain home in Breckenridge, and there is potential for some travel there during the contract.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

All candidates must have 2–3+ years of professional Newborn Care Specialist and/or Night Nanny experience, with strong experience caring for newborns overnight.
Previous experience independently managing overnight newborn care is required.
Newborn Care Specialist, postpartum doula or other newborn-specific training is preferred.
Strong knowledge of newborn feeding, safe sleep, soothing and early newborn development.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, proactive, calm, confident and highly professional.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as the parents are looking for someone who can collaborate with them and bring their own professional knowledge to the role.
The family is looking for someone who can commit to a consistent five-night-per-week schedule and ideally remain flexible about extending beyond the initial four months.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is offering $40–$45/hour (gross), depending on experience and qualifications.

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Have all standard vaccinations
