This family has three bright, unique children and is looking for someone who will take the time to build a meaningful, individual relationship with each of them. They would love a Family Assistant who brings fresh ideas, encourages new interests, and makes everyday life a little more active, engaging, and fun! Their youngest, age 6, is a bright, energetic boy who will be the primary focus of the childcare portion of this role. He experiences language delays and auditory processing challenges and currently works with a private educator three mornings per week. He thrives with someone who is patient, attentive, playful, and able to meet him where he is developmentally while recognizing his intelligence and capabilities. Their 11-year-old daughter is in fifth grade and completes schooling online, attending in person one day per week. She is fairly independent but would benefit from someone who checks in, helps with snacks, and encourages her to explore activities and interests outside the home. Their oldest daughter, almost 14, is in eighth grade and also attends school primarily online, with one in-person day per week. She will transition to high school next fall. While she is largely independent, the family would love someone who can connect with her, learn what interests her, and thoughtfully encourage her to participate in activities, develop hobbies, and spend more time outside the house.
All standard Family Assistant duties, including engaging childcare, family laundry, meal prep, dishes, light housekeeping, organization, errands, and transportation. Provide attentive, individualized care for the youngest child through creative play, outdoor activities, and learning opportunities. Research, plan, and coordinate activities and outings for all three children, encouraging physical activity by learning their interests. Assist with dairy-free meal prep, household projects, vendor coordination, and obtaining quotes. Take initiative in managing daily tasks, anticipating household needs, and collaborating with both parents to keep the home running smoothly.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, confident Family Assistant who can balance hands-on childcare with household support, independently manage responsibilities, and bring creative ideas to the table. They should be comfortable caring for multiple school-age children and supporting a child with language and processing differences in a respectful, strengths-based way.
The family is looking for someone who is upbeat, energetic, proactive, organized, and genuinely enjoys staying busy! Someone who loves engaging in conversation, can connect with children of different ages, and serves as a positive, capable role model. A naturally structured, take-charge personality paired with warmth, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit would be an excellent fit.
Previous experience with school-age children, including preteens and teenagers, is highly valued.
Experience in a Family Assistant or household management capacity, with the ability to independently prioritize and complete tasks, is strongly preferred.
Experience supporting children with language delays, processing differences, or individualized learning needs would be a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills are essential.
Must be a confident, safe driver with a clean driving record and a reliable, well-maintained vehicle that can safely accommodate three children, including one in a booster seat.
