Commitment/Contract Length: This is a 6-week overnight newborn care position.

Start Date: Mid-December 2026, through the end of January 2027

Children's Ages: Care will be for the family's first baby, who will be approximately 2 months old when the position begins.

About the Children:

Care will focus exclusively on the family's newborn.
The family is looking for overnight support as they transition from postpartum support and would like someone who can confidently care for their baby throughout the night.
The ideal candidate will have a calm, safe and nurturing approach and be comfortable caring for a young infant overnight.

About the Family:

The parents are first-time parents who are thoughtful, responsible and value a clean, safe and well-organized home.
Mom is a corporate lawyer, and Dad works in technology.
They are looking for someone sensible, responsible and aligned with their values who can provide dependable overnight care.
The family is hoping to find someone with some experience with sleep training or establishing healthy sleep habits.

About the Pets:

There are no pets in the home.

Additional Notes:

The home has multiple levels.
A private room will be available for the Night Nanny during overnight shifts.
The nursery is located next to the primary bedroom.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard newborn night nanny duties, including overnight newborn care, diapering, soothing, settling, feeding support, burping and maintaining a safe sleep environment.
Follow the family's preferred overnight routine and provide consistent, responsive care.
Support the baby's developing sleep habits and implement sleep training strategies as appropriate and directed by the parents.
Monitor and communicate the baby's overnight feeding, sleeping and diapering patterns.
Keep the baby's nursery and feeding/diapering areas clean, organized and well stocked.
Provide a safe, calm and nurturing environment for the baby throughout the overnight shift.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of professional newborn and infant experience, with strong hands-on experience caring for babies during the first year of life.
Previous overnight newborn or Night Nanny experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with sleep training, newborn sleep routines and establishing healthy sleep habits is highly valued.
The candidate should be sensible, responsible, clean and safety-conscious.
The ideal candidate will be calm, dependable, nurturing and confident in independently caring for a newborn overnight.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow the parents' preferences and routines are important.
The family is looking for someone who will be a safe and trustworthy presence in their home.
No second language is required.
College degree is not required, but preferred.

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Have all standard vaccinations, including flu.
