Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: Care will be for two school-aged boys, ages 13 and 10.
About the Children:
  • Both boys are incredibly kind, creative, and genuinely enjoy spending time together. They love riding mountain bikes, drawing, exploring outdoors, and spending time in nature.
  • The oldest child is high-functioning on the autism spectrum. He is bright, thoughtful, and thrives with a patient, calm, and low-key caregiver. He follows a healthy diet free of processed foods, occasionally becomes overstimulated, and benefits from someone who understands when he needs a little extra time to regulate. He attends therapy twice a week after school.
  • His younger brother is quiet, sweet, and easygoing. He has some sensory processing sensitivities and prefers quieter environments over large crowds. He enjoys spending time with his older brother.
About the Family:
  • Mom is an airline pilot whose schedule changes monthly, while Dad owns a property management business and works primarily from home, with occasional time out of the office. The parents are separated and share parenting responsibilities, with the children remaining in the family home while each parent rotates in and out based on custody and Mom's flight schedule.
  • The family values consistency, structure, organization, and teamwork. They use positive reinforcement and goal-setting to encourage responsibility and independence with the boys.
About the Pets:
  • The family has a friendly Greyhound. The nanny will be responsible for walking the dog and letting him out during the day - all candidates must be pet friendly.
Additional Notes:
  • This family has had a wonderful experience working with their previous ABC nanny and is hoping to find someone with a similar approach. They have also worked with summer nannies over the years and truly value caregivers who are dependable, organized, patient, and flexible.
