Position Highlights

A quick look at this new ABC job…

Located at: DTC Blvd and Belleview
Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some flexibility for an occasional overnight or additional hours. The family is happy to guarantee 35 hours per week.
Live-In / Live-Out: Live-out
Commitment/Contract Length: This is a long-term position for 1+ year - longer if it’s a great match.
Start Date: ASAP

Family and Household Dynamics

A peek behind the front door...

Children's Ages: Care will be for two children ages 8 and 6 years old.
About the Children:
  • The family's oldest is in third grade. He is super smart, sensitive, social, and funny. He is slightly on the spectrum with autistic and ADHD tendencies, but is in therapy, working on coping strategies.
  • The youngest is in kindergarten with some developmental delays. He is a classic boy who loves trucks and dinosaurs, running around, and going to the park. He has a G-tube, is autistic and is in occupational therapy, making wonderful progress.
About the Family:
  • Dad works outside of the home with a hybrid schedule. His office is downtown and he occasionally travels for work.
  • This is a single-parent home. Dad has sole custody of his son's. He is transparent, flexible, and looking forward to a strong partnership with his new family assistant.
About the Pets:
  • There are no pets in the home.
Additional Notes:
  • Mom and Dad just went through a divorce. The boys see their mom twice a week with supervision.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • All standard family assistant duties including after-school pick up, transportation to extracurricular activities, afternoon routine, meal prep, helping with homework, facilitating chores, running errands, grocery shopping, organizational projects around the home, and children's laundry.
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel is required for this position.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • 2+ year of nanny experience with school-age children
  • Previous experience with family assistant duties.
  • Special needs experience with autism would be a plus but not a requirement.
  • The ideal candidate will be warm, motherly, and reliable.
  • They should be OK with the current status of mom and dad's divorce and be willing to help the family navigate this change. The candidate will have no involvement with Mom during their first year of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

Let’s talk dollars and cents…

Rate of Pay (gross):
  • The family is offering $30-$35/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $54,600 - $63,700 per year (gross).
Benefits and Perks Offered:
  • This family is offering all standard benefits, including 2+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days and gas/mileage reimbursement for driving on the job.
Any Additional Perks:
  • This family is also open to offering a health insurance reimbursement of $200/month based on the candidate’s needs/total compensation package.

  • Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
  • Have strong professional and personal references
  • Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • Are a non-smoker
  • Committed to professional, legal pay
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
