Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Family is seeking chef to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, although they're flexible. Hours are TBD based on the chef's estimate but will likely need evenings available for fresh dinners. The preference is for meals to be prepared in-home, with grocery shopping handled by the chef (reimbursed by the family). More details below.

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a 3+ month commitment with the opportunity to extend for a year.

Children's Ages: It's a busy home with 4 adults and 3 children.

About the Children:

Children are often around and may want to participate lightly in baking—so comfort with kids in the kitchen is a plus, but they won’t be underfoot.
Kids' meals should include slight variations of the same meal but simpler.

About the Family:

Mom and dad both work full-time, and have demanding careers. They are kind, thoughtful, generous and eager to have someone help them make their home run a little smoother! Goodbye fast food!
They enjoy dishes with Middle Eastern, Korean, Thai, and Japanese influences.
Occasionally they eat red meat - 1 or 2 times a month.

Additional Notes:

The nanny for this family is a vegetarian, so a modified version of the meals for her would be appreciated.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard meal prep duties, including grocery shopping, cooking in the home, and cleaning up after cooking.
The role includes preparing three freshly plated dinners at home, prepping two dinners, four lunches and a dessert for later each week.
No dietary restrictions, but they follow a vegetable-forward Mediterranean-style diet.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

Family will give preference to candidates who have 3-5+ years of experience working professionally as a restaurant chef, private chef, or meal prep chef is require.
Safe cooking certifications and or training would be ideal.
Formal culinary training or a degree in culinary arts is strongly preferred.
The ability to plan a menu a week in advance, for approval, will be needed.
All candidates should submit a Chef resume and a sample menu showcasing range and specialties before an interview will be scheduled.
The ideal candidate for the job will be positive and professional, reliable and timely, experienced and ready to provide hands-on support for this busy family.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is open to offering a competitive weekly or hourly rate based on the candidate's experience. Range could be from $35/hour to $50/hour BOE.

Benefits and Perks Offered:

No benefits beyond guaranteed hours are being offered at this time.

Required Qualifications

Have a minimum of 3+ years of professional cooking, chef, and/or meal prep experience with references.
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate.
Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
