Schedule & Guaranteed Hours: Family is seeking 10-hour overnight shifts.

Live-In / Live-Out: This is a live-out position.

Commitment/Contract Length: This is a contract position for 3 months.

Start Date: Anticipated start is around the week of November 16, 2026

Children's Ages: Care will be for the family's newborn, who is due in mid-November.

About the Children:

Care will primarily focus on the family’s newborn, their third baby.
The family's two oldest attend school and leave the home around 7:20 a.m. The parents would especially value overnight coverage through 8:00 a.m. once settled into the routine so mornings with their older children can run smoothly.

About the Family:

Mom is an experienced parent who has used overnight newborn support previously and has a clear understanding of what worked well for her family.
She’s looking for a knowledgeable professional who can work collaboratively with her, while respecting that she remains closely involved in feeding decisions, routines and the baby’s overall schedule. Mom plans to pump and provide bottles overnight. With their previous newborn caregiver, she would wake to pump, leave milk ready outside the room and have the caregiver prepare/store milk and clean pumping and bottle supplies.
Mom plans to return to work after approximately 12 weeks and is frequently on call, making a sustainable newborn sleep routine especially important to the family.
Dad travels, so dependable overnight support will be particularly valuable when he is away.

Additional Notes:

The bedrooms are located on the second floor. Baby will sleep in a crib in their own room.
A guest room is available, and the family previously used a recliner during overnight newborn care.
Laundry is conveniently located near the baby’s room.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

All standard overnight postpartum doula/newborn care duties, including feeding, burping, diapering, soothing, settling baby back to sleep, bottle preparation and cleaning, and keeping the overnight nursery and feeding areas organized.
Partner with Mom to establish developmentally appropriate routines and healthy sleep habits, adjusting for the baby’s age, feeding needs, growth spurts and changing developmental stages.
Support Mom’s pumping routine by managing expressed milk, preparing bottles or milk bags as directed, and washing and resetting feeding and pumping supplies for the next use.
Provide light newborn-related laundry support and thoughtful postpartum assistance for Mom when appropriate, such as preparing a simple smoothie or similar small support during the overnight or morning transition.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

Minimum 2-3+ years of professional newborn experience, including overnight newborn or postpartum support.
Postpartum doula training, NCS certification or comparable newborn-specific education certification is required.
Experience supporting pumping and bottle-feeding families and establishing developmentally appropriate newborn sleep routines is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, calm and highly professional, with the confidence to guide and support while working collaboratively with an experienced mom. The family is seeking someone who respects Mom’s preferences, communicates well and understands that successful overnight care will feel like a partnership.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

The family is happy to pay $45-$50/hour (gross) BOE.

Mom is highly engaged and prepared to consistently follow an agreed-upon routine, creating an excellent opportunity for a postpartum professional who enjoys true collaboration with parents.

Required Qualifications

Have a minimum of 2-3+ years of applicable professional experience verifiable with references
Have strong professional and personal references
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Are 18+ years old and a high school graduate (2-4+ year degrees preferred)
Are authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction
Are a non-smoker
Committed to professional, legal pay
CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to hire)
Have all standard vaccinations, including flu and tdap
