Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:
  • This position will primarily focus on providing attentive, nurturing care for the family's baby throughout the day, while also assisting with before- and after-school care for the older children. During the baby's naps, independent play, and other downtime, the Family Assistant will transition to household management responsibilities. Duties will include, but are not limited to, all standard family assistant responsibilities such as preparing children's meals and snacks, laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, grocery shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, vacuuming, tidying common areas, maintaining organization throughout the home, managing household inventory, and assisting with household projects as needed. The Family Assistant will help ensure the home runs smoothly by staying proactive with household tasks while always prioritizing childcare when the children are present. The family anticipates enrolling the baby in part-time preschool in the fall of 2027, at which time the role will naturally evolve to include an even greater emphasis on family assistant and household management responsibilities during school hours.
Travel Requirements:
  • The ability to travel would be nice, however, not required.

Desired Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

  • 3+ years of professional in-home childcare experince.
  • Previous experience with household management duties as a family assistant.
  • Previous experience caring for multiple children at one time.
  • Must have recent professional infant and newborn experince.
  • The ideal candidate will have a natural bond with the children and feel confident caring for multiple children at once. The family is looking for someone who is energetic, physically engaging, and genuinely enjoys getting down on the floor to play. They would love an FA who is invested in growing with their family and is excited to take on more Family Assistant responsibilities over the coming years. The right person will be highly proactive, have excellent attention to detail, and naturally look for ways to help without being asked. They should be able to stay productive during downtime, take initiative with household tasks, and consistently find ways to make the family's day-to-day life run more smoothly.
